Look good to me. All recognizable names.

it's a little hard to do with 10oz bars, but the sound of silver striking silver is quite unique. Just jiggle a handful of 90% us coins, then compare to a handful of modern coins and the difference is obvious.

If you'ld like to send a couple of those to me, I'll check them for ya. Of course one will be "sacrificed" for the testing  :s9:

Re: Fake bars?

isn't there some kind of test like dropping it on the floor
and it has a distinctive ring
whereas a fake would have a dull thud

has anyone tried this ?

Melt and assay. No question then.

Strike them against a rock or something hard enough to give them a ring. If they are silver, they will have a nice ring, if they are lead, they will go thud.

It is just something that you perfect after a while....... but every so often I test myself by dropping some with my eys closed and see if I can tell the diff..8 times out of 10 I get it right.

I would be MORE worried about the ebay seller........I have been hearing a boat load of horor stories as of late.

keep your wits about you.....other than that..the bars look great....

Try and pickup 90% and SAE from here on in though...... the markup is higher but the liquidity is greater

As this market unfolds SPEED will be the most important factor

Re: Fake bars?

Those look like good bars, especially the NWT Mint as I haven't seen those all that often

With the prices up where they are, I am thinking of listing a 100oz Englehard bar so I can then buy 10ozers with the proceeds. If silver holds till friday and I make it a 3 or 4 day auction, I can list it on Thurs without too much risk.
